Ditch the Treadmill and Grab a Rope!

We all remember when we were in elementary school and we were forced to jump rope. I remember vividly constantly whipping my feet or back by accident so I didn’t really have a good experience with it when I was younger. But boy I wish I never stopped!

Jump Roping isn’t just fun, it’s crazy good for you! Jump roping has been to shown to burn 25% more calories than running (not including the added resistance of weighted jump ropes) and has been observed to increase bone density and coordination. I can personally testify that one of the hardest workouts I’ve done was a jump rope hiit (high intensity interval training)

Another wonderful part of jump roping is how portable it is! No gym or treadmill? Jump rope! No place to go for a run? Go find a small open area and grab a rope!

If you were to get any cardio recommendations from me, it’s gonna Be jump roping! So grab a rope, find a comfy little spot and have fun!

Red Tea Detox: My New Best Friend

As an Asian American, I’ve grown pretty used to tea. I love Milk Tea (very original lol) and I enjoy green tea, probably because my parents made me drink it since I was twelve. I’m not going to lie, green tea is not the best tasting thing in the world, but it does have it’s benefits. It’s packed with antioxidants, increases brain function, aids fat loss, and lowers risks for cancer just to say a few. Basically, it helps you lose weight, it makes you smarter, and makes it harder you to get cancer. It does a lot for your body for some ground up leaves and water. And while green tea is probably one of the most healthy drinks you can take, its arch nemesis is coming for it. And it’s called rooibos.

Rooibos Tea, aka red tea, is a tea derived from the Aspalathus linearis plant and in my opinion, is the victor in the green vs red debate. It tastes better (in my opinion) and it has about an equal amount of antioxidants as it’s green brother and not only that, but a certain couple of antioxidants in rooibos, aspalathin and nothofagin, help to regulate blood sugar, reduce excessive fat production, lessen stress, and inhibit metabolic disorders. Now that’s a lot of stuff! Well guess what, kids? That’s not all! This drink will make you lose weight too!

If I were to reccommend any product for red tea, I would have to give it to Liz Swann Miller’s Red Tea Detox! It has all the benefits of red tea, plus other essential ingredients included for extra benefits and improved taste! It even has a sweetened version! Check it out!
